Dr. Jeanmarie A. Cosgrove
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Jeanmarie A. Cosgrove, DMD is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. A board certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Cosgrove proudly opened her private practice, Pediatric Dental Center of Avon, in August 2009.
In 1995, Dr. Cosgrove graduated from the University of Connecticut at Storrs as an Honors Scholar with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. As part of the Honors Program, she worked in the Virology and Interferon Research Laboratory where she produced and defended her thesis entitled Primary Bovine Tongue Cells as Host for the Study of Interferon Induction and Action by Vesicular Stomatitis Virus. Her research won the prestigious Margaret F. Ertman Award for outstanding undergraduate research.
In 1999, Dr. Cosgrove graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in Farmington, CT. She continued her training at UConn and completed a two-year pediatric dental residency program. While in residency, Dr. Cosgrove gained proficiency in conscious sedation, oral rehabilitation under general anesthesia, and the latest restorative techniques. She especially enjoys custom mouth guard fabrication for the prevention of sports related injuries.
Dr. Cosgrove is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Oral Health and Diagnostic Sciences at UConn School of Dental Medicine where she mentors dental students in the specialty of pediatric dentistry. She is currently on active medical staff at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, CT. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Connecticut State Dental Association, the Connecticut Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Hartford Dental Society.
Dr. Cosgrove resides in Avon, CT with her husband, daughter, and son. She can be found around town and the Farmington Valley at her kids many practices and games for field hockey, flag football, ice hockey, basketball, lacrosse, baseball, and softball. Her kids always wear their mouth guards!
Dr. Staci R. Allen
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Staci R. Allen, DDS joined Pediatric Dental Center of Avon in 2016. She is a board certified pediatric dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Originally from New York City, Dr. Allen and her family are happy to call Connecticut home.
In 2007, Dr. Allen graduated magna cum laude from St. John’s University. While at St. John’s, Dr. Allen participated in a variety of community service activities including a week-long trip to New Orleans, Louisiana to help families clean and rebuild their homes following hurricane Katrina. Noticing that there was no pre-dental society at St. John’s University, Dr. Allen joined the pre-medical honor society. She became president of the pre-medical honor society and suggested that the name and mission of the organization be changed to pre-health honor society. This allowed for the inclusion of dental, veterinary and other allied pre-health students.
In 2011, Dr. Allen graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York, NY. She continued her training with a one-year general practice residency program at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT followed by a two-year pediatric dental residency program in San Diego, CA. While in residency, Dr. Allen gained proficiency in treating patients with special health care needs, oral rehabilitation under general anesthesia, and a variety of preventative and restorative procedures. She especially enjoys placing Zirconia (white) posterior crowns.
Dr. Allen currently has hospital privileges at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, CT. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Connecticut State Dental Association, the Connecticut Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Hartford Dental Society. Dr. Allen resides in South Windsor, CT with her husband and daughter. In her free time she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She is a member of the South Windsor Mom’s Club.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Leanne graduated from the Fones School of Dental Hygiene at the University of Bridgeport in 2012. Prior to becoming a dental hygienist, Leanne was a dental assistant for eight years. She has always loved the field of dentistry and always knew she wanted to work in pediatrics. While in school she was recognized by The American Association of Public Health Dentistry with the Community Dentistry and Dental Public Health Award. Leanne has been a member of the PDC of Avon family since 2011 and feels truly grateful to be a part of an amazing team.

"Prior to graduation I had contacted Dr. Cosgrove in hopes that she was looking for a dental hygienist. Having known Dr. Cosgrove for many years I knew that we shared the same work ethic and outlook on pediatric dental care. I have been incredibly blessed and truly grateful to be able to work with an amazing dental team who are just as dedicated and committed as I am in providing outstanding care for our patients."
In her free time, Leanne loves to work out, bake cupcakes and spend quality time with her husband Jeff, daughter Lila Mae, her dogs Charlie and Sammy, and her friends and family. Her most favorite time of the year is the Fall where you can find her pumpkin and apple picking, hiking, and visiting all of her favorite fairs!
Certified Dental Assistant
Registered Dental Hygienist
Emma has been a valuable team member since October 2009 as a Certified Dental Assistant and then in 2013 as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2009 where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology and Neurobiology. As an undergraduate, she worked in Dr. Etan Markus' psychology lab conducting research on visual acuity and memory formation related to the hippocampus in aged and young rats. In addition, she was the proud recipient of the University of Connecticut Leadership Scholarship. Upon graduation, she worked as a dental assistant for Julia Qin Bai DMD Family and Cosmetic Dentistry. Interested in dentistry, she continued to advance her studies and became a certified dental assistant. In 2013, Emma graduated with honors from Tunxis Community College’s Dental Hygiene Program.

In her free time, Emma enjoys yoga, snowboarding, rock climbing, and binge watching Netflix.
Certified Dental Assistant
Prior to working as a dental assistant, Susan was employed at an elementary school for 12 years while raising her daughter. Always knowing she wanted to work in the medical field and with children, she decided to pursue a career in dental assisting. Susan completed the dental assisting program at Valley Medical Institute and soon after became a Certified Dental Assistant. She joined the team in 2011.

They know just how to explain everything in a way that children understand, making their visit to the dental office a positive experience. Reading, cooking, working out, and spending time with family and friends are some of the things she enjoys in her free time.
Certified Dental Assistant
Brianna has been with Pediatric Dental Center of Avon since January 2017. She came to us with extensive knowledge and experience not only in Pediatric Dentistry but also in Endodontics, Oral Surgery, and General Dentistry. Brianna has had a significant interest in dentistry from an early age, which she credits to her Pediatric Dentist. She completed her schooling and numerous externships, her most memorable being the time she spent at UConn Health Center, ultimately receiving her Dental Assisting certifications in 2014. Brianna continues earning her credits in continuing education and has a passion for studying the evolving world of dentistry.
A native to California, Brianna takes advantage of New England’s warmer weather by being outdoors. Her hobbies include playing soccer, spending time at her family’s beach house on the Cape, traveling, and hiking with her German Shepherd-Golden Retriever. During the winter season you can find Brianna on a mountain up north, where she enjoys snowboarding.
Brianna wears multiple hats in the office, with both administrative and clinical duties. When asked what her favorite part of working at Pediatric Dental Center of Avon is, she said:
"I love how passionate our team is about our patients and the work we do. I enjoy working with the children and earning their trust by striving to make sure every patient is not only comfortable, but has fun coming to see us. One of my favorite parts about this job is the intricate care the doctors and I provide our patients under general anesthesia at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, and the difference we make for the children."
Front Desk Care Coordinator
Lisa Smith, hired in August 2009, has been here since Dr. Cosgrove opened her Avon, Connecticut practice. She is a Connecticut native and brings a unique experience, having lived in the west for 16 years. She received her Bachelor degree from the University of Colorado in Denver with a major in Geography: Earth and Environmental Science and a minor in Chemistry. She also studied environmental science as a graduate student before returning to Connecticut in 2008.
Lisa has worked in healthcare offices and hospitals in Connecticut, Colorado and Nebraska for over 25 years. She was a research assistant at CU where she worked as a hydrologic technician for the United States Geological Survey.
Lisa enjoys her family most of all, especially her four-footed friends. She spends much of her time working on the house and loves anything outdoors. She is a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club, Connecticut Chapter.

Chris joined Pediatric Dental Center of Avon in May of 2017. A native of Connecticut, Chris graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in English. Prior to working at the practice, Chris was employed at Hartford Life Insurance for 23 years. During his time there, his responsibilities ranged from processing customer requests to writing procedure and training documentation to maintaining reference intranet sites. Chris enjoys learning about the business aspects of pediatric dentistry and is able to apply his former experience to his current position.
In addition to spending time with his wife at work, Chris enjoys his time away from the office with their daughter, son, dog, and cat.
